Shock Flyer Plans

David Kennedy

Hey Guys
does anyone know a good site to get plans for a 3D profile shock flyer made from standard styrofoam box eg. fresh fruit or produce box? I have a speed 400 motor and necessary hardware to fly it. Any hints will do, it may or may not have ailerons and or rudder ect but it should be easy to build.
get high,
Dave

electra fun lithium

Dave Kennedy

Hey guys,
I dont know much technicalities relevant to lithium cells however i do know they give my Electra Fun outstanding power and duration compared to the 600 mAh standard cell supplied withg the model. I converted my Electra Fun to a 36.560 pcm radio and am running a 1660mAh 2 cell 7.4 lipo pack. My model now takes off from half a cricket pitch rather than almost the full length. Lithium also gives it much more power to climb more rapidly than the standard pack and the duration is much longer. Hopefully soon i may have more details facts and figures to post

New cells and packs

Lithium Bob

Hi all.

Where does all the time go ;-)

I’ll be sending out a new news letter to all the people on the mailing list in the next couple of days, so heads up.

The Tanic packs are being well received and any feedback from customers is always appreciated. I’d like to hear from you guys that have bought some of those large 5S2P and 4S2P packs!!

How about some photos of the planes you are all using the various cells in.

I’m hopefully going to have a video download page soon so any contributions will be most welcome.

830 cells

James Armstrong

hey fellas,

i have been using 830 cells in different planes now.
4 to be exact- stmodel yak 54 3s 830
- micro speedwing 2s 830
- GWS tigermoth 2s 830
- 18" yak 54 2s 830

the packs are awesome and are darn light at 38g for a 2s pack and 55g for a 3s. they really are terrifc cells. i can get a 13-14minute flight from my axi 2212/34 powered yak 54 and over 30 minutes of mixed throttle use on the micro speedwing.
they are great cells and so very cheap

keep up the good work bob,

I can see I’m going to have to give them a try. My Crackerjack kit has been proven to fly forever with them lol.

The "Beast" is loose

Lithium Bob

Hi Gordon & all. To answer you question on availability of larger cells, yes. The first will be the 1800’s which are now over due :-(

There has been a lot of activity on my part behind the scenes negotiating with factories and global distributors. I’m close to having a decent range to cover all applications. To me and the aim of my company price will be king. I’m not promising significantly cheaper the overseas prices but no more, the latest cells, local support and as volume grows I will be cheaper.

LiPo 3S2P pack for Logo 10 heli

Gordon

Hi,
I have been very interested in getting my hands on some US distributed Thunderpower Gen II LiPos in a 3S2P arrangement, with each cell rated at 2100mAH I think.
Is RC Lithium able to offer such a cell arrangement and capacity (or similar, if cost competitve) to the Australian market ? I think theres a ’beast’ out there in OZ, with lots of electric and slimer heli flyers suddenly starting to realise the amazing performance afforded by the use of LiPo cells.

Do they get any better??

chris

Hello all,

Well I thought I had found the best set-up for my foamy extra until bob talked me into giving one of his 3s2p packs a whirl. Geeze im glad he did! These little cells are absolutely amazing not only did they give me about 20% more yee haa power the runtime has increased dramatically over the similar sized pack I was using.
The set-up I choose for my extra is Himax 2015-4200, GWS box with 6.6:1 gearing, MGM compro 18a controller and one of bobs 3s2p 1660 batteries. the total weight of the model is 19 oz with U/C. And it will accelerate vertical at any point during the flight.
I now get over 20mins of thrashing 3D fun without ever having to put more than 1000mah back into the battery and the battery is still room temp on landing!

Thanks bob for making my flying a whole lot more enjoyable.
I was a dedicated power flyer now they all gather dust and my foamy gets flown about 10-15 flights a week, try one you’ll see what im talking about.

Performance Comparison

Lithium Bob

Yes I know it has taken some time but all good things are worth waiting for as they say. When you
first see these little cells in the flesh it’s hard to believe the energy they store.

I’m currently flying an Easy Street with a Himax 2025-4200, 6:1 gearbox, a 10x7 APC SF and a 3S2P
830 pack. It realy scoots around. With that combo I’m drawing just over 18 amps static and it
unloads nicely in the air.

The flight performance has increased noticeably over the 3S 1900 I was running. While the
capacity has gone down to 1660mAh so has the weight of the pack, from 190 grams to 127 grams.

I’ll try a 3S3P next and that will take my flight time well over the 1900 pack but still weigh
less :-)

The first few cells have gone out to local fliers and the initial feedback is great. In the next
week or so I will be posting a few photos and feedback so stay tuned.

Hello from RC Lithium Power

Lithium Bob

Hello to my fellow modelers. Well, I’ve taken the plunge to set up a company to retail Lipo’s here in Australia. I’lll do my best to fight off the plunging Aussie dollar and keep prices steady. Once I receive a particular shipment the price will hold firm for the duration of that stock. When I started setting this all up the Aussie $ was at $0.75USD now it’s just below $0.70. that makes a big difference to my buying power and can realy lift the prices as any of you will know who buy over seas regularly. I’ll be starting off with loose cells and then be offering packs. I plan to increase the variety of cell types before I offer packs though. Your comments to me will influence how soon this happens and of course sales will help too (he he) Anyway, bare with me and as soon as I have a delivery date I’ll be making lots of noise. Lithium Bob.
